We’re looking to add a new postdoc to our team!
The position will be hosted in the Department of Political Science at the University of Western Ontario, under the supervision of Laura Stephenson, C-Dem Co-Director. Candidates should have a completed PhD in political science or a related discipline before the beginning of the contract, and a demonstrated interest and expertise in at least one of the following areas: voting, elections, political psychology, political behaviour, and public opinion. The capacity to conduct advanced quantitative analysis is essential. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, have experience collecting and analyzing survey data, be familiar with experiments, and be comfortable with Stata, R, and Qualtrics.
In addition to pursuing their own research, the successful applicant will be expected to produce scholarly publications using C-Dem data, on their own and in collaboration with C-Dem members. Responsibilities will include working with project members to design and analyze surveys, assisting with C-Dem events and contributing to technical reports and academic papers. The ability to write in both English and French is an asset but not required. The position will commence between July 1 and September 1, 2023, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year based on performance. Compensation will be $50,000/year.
